Start in the official Consular Services Portal

German student-visa applications from Pakistan use the Federal Foreign Office Consular Services Portal. The portal questionnaire determines the documents requested for your situation, so use its current checklist rather than an old list copied from an adviser or social post.

Applicants in Sindh and Balochistan are handled through Karachi; applicants in Punjab, Islamabad Capital Territory, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are handled through Islamabad. Confirm the responsible mission before starting.

Upload a complete and readable file

Prepare legible scans and keep names, dates, degree details, and funding evidence consistent. The German Missions in Pakistan specifically warn that past degree certificates, transcripts, and proof of tuition payment where applicable remain mandatory even if a portal screen marks them optional.

  • Use the exact admission and programme details shown by the university.
  • Include earlier academic records, not only the latest degree.
  • Check that every scan is complete, upright, and readable before submission.

Understand screening and appointment

After the online file is screened, the mission may request corrected or additional documents or notify you about the in-person appointment. An online registration is not the visa decision, and a request for corrections should be answered through the official workflow without creating a second application.

Treat funding as an evidence question

A blocked account is one possible way to prove financing, but it is not the only possible form. The Federal Foreign Office also describes alternatives such as qualifying parental finances, a declaration of commitment, a bank guarantee, or a recognised scholarship. Use the portal and mission instructions to confirm what applies to your file and the amount required when you apply.
