Check the published fee for your exact programme
France has national registration-fee rules for many public higher-education programmes, including differentiated fees for many students from outside the EU, EEA, and Switzerland. The amount can depend on degree level, institution, programme, academic year, and exemption status, so record the fee shown by the institution for your intake.
Do not assume an exemption
French institutions and scholarship arrangements can grant full or partial tuition exemptions in defined circumstances. An exemption must be confirmed by the institution or awarding body; it should not be inferred from a previous intake, a third-party list, or the fact that an institution is public.
Treat CVEC as a separate enrolment step
The Contribution de vie étudiante et de campus, or CVEC, is separate from tuition. Most degree students must obtain a CVEC payment or exemption certificate before final enrolment. Campus France lists the 2026/27 amount as €105, but the amount is annual and should be rechecked for the year you enrol.
Build a complete first-year budget
Add the confirmed tuition and CVEC position to the Études en France fee, visa and appointment costs, insurance where applicable, travel, housing deposits, monthly living expenses, and any programme materials. Use official fee pages and keep evidence of exemptions or payments for enrolment.
